I wish that I could post the details of our stay, but that stay never occurred. On September 4th, 2017, I booked a room at this inn after about a two hour search for accommodations in that area. We were attending a wedding nearby and it seems that the area is a popular destination at this time of the year. However, on September 10 the owner contacted me to inform that they "overbooked" and could not accommodate me. Who does that!!?? Totally unacceptable!

Each bedroom upstairs is unique and cozy - each reflects early 1900 styles. Definite a place to check out if you're passing through the area.

Old Oak Inn hosts an old time/Irish music jam the third Friday of every month, starting around 7:00pm. Cathy, the owner, is warm and friendly and makes gooey, homemade chocolate chip cookies every Friday and everyone gets a free cookie.

And if you like old times/ Irish music, so much the better!

Very friendly staff and atmosphere!!! Highly recommend.

I wanted to like this place. I tried. But there are some things you need to know if you stay here. First, the good. The restaurant and bar are a bright spot in this hotel and I would happily return to eat. The problem is with staying here. I realize when stopping at an independent B&B it's not going to be a full luxury experience. But our room was somewhat dirty and there is no housekeeping while you're there. As this is a converted house the walls are thin and it's easy to hear what others are doing. Also, the hall lights went out while we were out, so I had to use a flashlight to get in to the room. I could forgive all of this were it not for the fact that there are 2 bathrooms servicing the entire second floor, and when the hotel is busy they are inaccessible. Why they have them marked men's and women's I will never know since that makes a scarce resource that much less attainable.

Had a marvelous nights sleep. Beautiful rooms , excellent service.

The fish fry is plentiful and delicious, the staff is awesome, and the atmosphere is casually intimate. The inn is beautiful, filled with antiques and amazingly carved intricate woodwork.
